Our team

OUR TEAM

Carl started his career as a Clerk of the Court for many parish courts across Jamaica in the 1970s. He was then promoted to a Prosecutor and departed from public practice as an Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions. He prosecuted several high-profile criminal matters for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, Murder, and Corruption.   He later co-founded the legal firm, Rowe McDonald & Company, where he specialized in Civil Litigation, Estate, Conveyancing, and Criminal Law.

In his spare time, Carl is an avid music connoisseur who has an extensive collection of music dating from the 1940s through the Ska era into modern times. In his former years he played Manning Cup football, but as he aged finds his pleasure in watching it now. On his down days he attends to his garden.

Carl is a Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Portland and Notary Public for the island of Jamaica. He has distinguished himself in high stakes litigation and as such has been called to represent clients in several other Caribbean islands.

Tameka Jordan - Partner and Foreign Legal Consultant

Practice areas:  Immigration (USA and JA), Civil Litigation, Family Law, Probate / Estate, Conveyancing, Property and Real Estate, Anti-Corruption and Regulatory, Personal Injury Law, Public Law and Medical Malpractice.

Tameka has extensive legal experience and continues to elevate the tradition of excellence that has been the firms hallmark for several years. She works diligently to handle our client's most complex matters and is known for her ability to conduct comprehensive and thorough research, identify and resolve complex legal issues and factual inconsistencies.  She has successfully negotiated several settlements based on sound and resourceful pre-trial strategies. Tameka is highly regarded as a skillful negotiator and holds additional certificate in mediation. She has successfully litigated several high-profile cases and resolved complex disputes at all levels, Parish Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal in Jamaica. 

 

Tameka also has a firm base of experience in areas such as Finance and Public Policy. She spent her early working years at the Ministry of Finance and Planning in Jamaica, where she oversaw running the monthly external debt stock. She later began her legal career under the mentorship of Queen’s Council - Jacqueline Samuels-Brown at FIRMLAW.

Along with her Bachelor of Laws, Tameka holds a Master’s degree in Governance and Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Studies.  This breadth of experience lends to the creativity, energy, and broad perspective she brings to the practice.

 

Tameka has now taken on the role of serving the diaspora through the extended company, MJ Global Law in the USA, by offering Jamaica legal services  in Florida.  

 

As a child Tameka first wanted to become an Archaeologist however, she chose law instead. That love, however, for culture and studying and meeting people of different cultures was not lost and is now expressed through her travels to several destinations across the world and her collection of books and arts. She is a lover of spicy food and anything curry. She is also dubbed the queen of the board game, monopoly!
